Biyografi
Prof. Dr. Ali Savaş, 1986 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesini; 1992 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi, İstanbul Tıp Fakültesinde Nöroşirürji (Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi) uzmanlığı eğitimini bitirdi. Daha sonra Freiburg Üniversitesi (Almanya) Tıp Fakültesinde, “Nörofarmakoloji”de Doktora ve “Stereotaktik ve Fonksiyonel Nöroşirürji”de Yüksek İhtisas yaptı. Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi AbD da çalışıyorken, 2000 yılında Nöroşirürji Doçenti; 2006 yılında Nöroşirürji Profesörü oldu. Halen aynı bölümde öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaktadır. Ek olarak, 2006 yılında Münih Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde (Almanya); 2012 yılında Illinois Üniversitesi (Chicago) Tıp Fakültesinde (ABD); 2019 yılında Los Angeles Kaliforniya Universitesinde (UCLA, ABD) davetli profesör olarak çalıştı.
2002 yılında Avrupa Nöroşirürji Topluluğu (EANS) Araştırma birincilik ödülünü (Aesculap) aldı. Ayrıca, EANS’ın “Bilimsel Araştırma Komitesi” üyesi ve “Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi”dir olarak çalıştı. Ek olarak yrıca aynı topluluğun “Sınav Komitesi” üyeliğini yürütmektedir. Ayrıca, Avrupa Fonksiyonel Nöroşirürji ve Stereotaksi Topluluğunun (ESSFN) “Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi” ve Türkiye temsilcisidir; Dünya Nöroşirürji Topluluğunun (WFNS) Türkiye temsilcisidir; Dünya Stereotaktik ve Fonksiyonel Nöroşirürji (WSSFN) topluluğunda “Yöneticiler Kurulu” üyesidir.
Prof. Dr. Ali Savaş, genel nöroşirürji'nin (Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi) yanısıra, özellikle Parkinson Hastalığının cerrahi tedavisi ve Hareket Bozuklukları –Tremor (Titreme), Distoni- cerrahi tedavisi ; Nörostimulasyon (beyin pili) uygulamaları; Ağrının cerrahi tedavisi (trigeminal nevralji, kanser ağrısı, yüz ağrısı, bel ve bacak ağrısı... vb.) ve Beyin Tümörlerinin cerrahi tedavisi üzerinde çalışmaktadır.
