Prof. ABDURRAHİM TOKTAŞ

Prof. Dr. Abdurrahim Toktaş completed his undergraduate studies in 2002 at Gaziantep University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (English program). He received his master's and doctoral degrees from Mersin University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2010 and 2014, respectively.

Between 2003 and 2010, he worked at Türk Telekom Information Networks and Transmission Units, and between 2010 and 2015, at Mersin University Information Processing Department. After completing his doctorate, he served as the founding head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University from 2015 to 2022 and continued his work as a faculty member in the same department.

Since 2022, Prof. Dr. Toktaş has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering at Ankara University, where he received his professorship title in 2023. He has also served as the founding head of the department since 2022.

His research areas include artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, chaotic systems, computer vision, image retrieval, image encryption, and electromagnetic and antenna applications of AI. To date, he has supervised 6 graduate theses; has 13 patents, 14 projects, 6 books or book chapters, 76 SCI-indexed articles (according to WoS: Q1: 36, Q2: 13, Q3: 12, Q4: 14), 14 international articles, and 42 conference papers.

Prof. Dr. Toktaş's work has attracted national and international attention, with 2411 (WoS), 2881 (Scopus), and 3747 (Google Scholar) citations. His H-index values ​​are recorded as 28 (WoS), 30 (Scopus), and 34 (Google Scholar), respectively. Prof. Dr. Toktaş, who is ranked among the top 2% of researchers in the world between 2021 and 2025, was awarded the Ankara University Faculty of Engineering First Place Science Award in the 2023 activity evaluation.
