Prof. ABDURRAHİM TOKTAŞ

Prof. Dr. Abdurrahim Toktaş completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (English) at Gaziantep University in 2002. He received his master's and doctoral degrees from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Mersin University in 2010 and 2014, respectively.

He worked in the Türk Telekom Information Networks and Transmission Units from 2003 to 2010, and in the Department of Information Technology at Mersin University from 2010 to 2015. After completing his doctorate, he served as the founding department head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University from 2015 to 2022, and continued to serve as a faculty member in the same department.

Prof. Dr. Toktaş has been a faculty member in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering at Ankara University since 2022 and was promoted to full professor in 2023. He has also served as the founding head of the department since 2022.

His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, chaotic systems, computer vision, image retrieval, image encryption, and electromagnetic and antenna applications of AI. To date, he has supervised six graduate theses, authored 10 patents, 14 projects, six books or book chapters, 73 SCI-indexed articles (According to WoS, Q1: 34, Q2: 13, Q3: 12, Q4: 14), 14 international articles, and 42 proceedings.

Prof. Dr. Toktaş's work has attracted national and international attention, with 2,100 (WoS), 2,592 (Scopus), and 3,344 (Google Scholar) citations. His H-index values ​​are 27 (WoS), 29 (Scopus), and 33 (Google Scholar), respectively.

Prof. Dr. Toktaş, who was recognized as one of the top 2% researchers globally between 2021 and 2025, was awarded the Ankara University Faculty of Engineering First Prize in Science in the evaluation of his 2023 activities.
