Özet
Lifetime of magnesium/teflon/viton pyrotechnic material was determined at different time periods. Samples were obtained by rapid aging at 45 ºC for periods equivalent to 10–20–30 years. Calorific value, bulk density, friction sensitivity, impact sensitivity, moisture content, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX) analyses were performed on newly synthesized and aged samples. Calorific values were found to be acceptable with a maximum change of 4.6%. Decrease in magnesium content was maximum 3.06%, the moisture content of the unaged sample was 0.15%. Bulk density decreases with aging. No significant change was observed in the surface with aging. The amount of magnesium decreased as aging. It was evaluated that calorific value, magnesium content and bulk density of the pyrotechnic material stored at 25 ºC for 30 years in sealed and ideal conditions can meet the expected performance, is not sensitive to friction, but the impact sensitivity increases as aging.
