Candida meningitis is a rare disease that is seen most frequently in premature neonates, neurosurgical patients, and the immunocompromised host. Other situations that predispose to candidiasis are intravascular catheters, serious burns, abdominal surgery and intravenous drug use. We report a case of meningitis in a 5-month-old girl with persistent fever. She was born at 34 weeks of gestation and remained in a neonatal intensive care unit for forty-eight days. Upon investigation, her blood and cerebrospinal fluid grew Candida albicans. She was treated with liposomal amphotericin B plus fluconazole and responded to therapy.
