HBV infection is one of the most important health problems in the world. There are particular risk groups of these infections. To protect the blood and blood product users of transfusion complications, it is necessary to do screening test on blood donors for HBsAg. In this study, 1400 healthy adults have been tested for HBsAg with ELISA system and their ALT levels in sera. Of individuals with high ALT level and HBsAg positive have been discarded. In this research, 43/1400 (%3.07) HBsAg positive and 67/1400 (%4.8) (>45 U/L) high volume ALT. The 43 of 1400 individuals HBsAg positive and the 67 of the 1400 individuals high value of ALT (>45 U/L) have been found. And to prevent post transfusion hepatitis, we strongly recommend to test the blood donors for HBsAg.
