Sustainability has become a key concept in tackling environmental problems and their economic, social and administrative dimensions. This paper looks at the municipality of Eskişehir Tepebaşı, which has received national and international recognition for its sustainability practises, and evaluates its potential as a model for metropolitan municipalities. Based on internationally recognised indicators, a customised assessment framework was used to collect data through interviews with municipal officials and document analysis. The aim of the study is to assess how well sustainability principles are integrated into local governance and policy outcomes, and to identify areas where current practises can be improved to promote sustainable urban development.
