Özet

Thirty-four urinary bladders were collected from cows that originated in a bracken fern rich area near the Black Sea in Turkey. Thirteen transitional cell carcinomas, 11 papillomas, and 10 lesions classified as mucosal hyperplasia were diagnosed. These tissues were then immunostained with monoclonal antibodies to cytokeratin 20, carcinoembryonic antigen, uroplakin 9, uroplakin 10, and epithelial growth factor. Lesions classified histologically as hyperplasia exhibited only the reactivity with uroplakin 9 or Uroplakin 10, Lesions classified histologically as papillomas were also reactive to either uroplakin 9 or uroplakin 10, but two tumours exhibited the reactivity to other markers as well. Transitional cell carcinomas Were uniformly immunoreactive to uroplakin 10 and cytokeratin 20, Due to uroplakin 10 reaction, five cases of hyperplasia and three cases of papilloma were re-classified as ill situ carcinomas.
