Özet

This chapter analyses real estate education, training, research systems, and professionalisation processes in Türkiye from both global and local perspectives. With the expansion of globalisation and the deepening of the financial sector, the real estate industry has moved beyond providing for basic shelter needs, gaining greater significance as an economic and financial sector. This development requires examining real estate not only within the context of engineering and architecture, but also by a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses law, urban planning, finance, and valuation. In this chapter, the real estate educational models in the USA, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe are analysed and compared with those in Türkiye. Within this context, the development of real estate education in Türkiye is evaluated, and areas for improvement are identified. Türkiye’s real estate education systems should be advanced following an interdisciplinary approach, aligning with global trends. Furthermore, the importance of restructuring real estate education to meet contemporary needs such as technological progress, sustainability, and international economic integration is discussed. In conclusion, real estate education in Türkiye has developed in response to increasing demands, particularly since the market economy’s rise in the 1980s. It is currently delivered through undergraduate and postgraduate programmes aimed at fostering professionalisation. The further integration of technological innovations, data analytics, and sustainability considerations into curricula can enhance the global competitiveness of Türkiye’s real estate sector.
