To examine the chapter related to hydrocephalus in Zahīre-i Murādiyye ( The Treasure of Murad) by Mu'min bin Mukbil and to determine the place of this knowledge in the history of Turkish medicine are aimed in this study. Copies of Zahīre-i Murādiyye preserved in Istanbul, Suleymaniye Manuscript Library, Antalya Tekelioglu Collection, Nr. 682 and Haci Mahmud Efendi Collection, Nr. 5507 were examined. The above-mentioned chapter was transliterated into contemporary Turkish alphabet, then a contemporary Turkish text was prepared and the knowledge on hydrocephalus in this chapter was compared to ones in the literature. The chapter related to hydrocephalus takes place in the 14th chapter of the first article on diseases of brain of Zahīre-i Murādiyye. The knowledge given by Mu'min bin Mukbil in this chapter are similar to the knowledge in Ismā?īl Jorjānī's Zahīre-i H'ārezmşāhī. The knowledge on hydrocephalus in Zahīre-i Murādiyye is not different from the knowledge in classical medical works written in Islamic Geography until that time. Nevertheless, being a Turkish medical source on hydrocephalus like the other subjects for people who did not know Arabic or Persian in Anatolia in the 15th century places Zahīre-i Murādiyye in an important position in the history of Turkish medicine.
