Nowadays, automation systems have gained more and more significance together with the development of Industry 4.0 era. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) are used as the main brain of automation systems. Not only digital inputs and outputs but also analog operation can be operated by PLCs as well as high speed process. PLC can communicate with other PLC or devices through some protocols suc as MODBUS, Ethernet, ProfiBUS and MQTT. In this study two different brand PLC are connected to an HMI through RS-485 communication. Two different brand PLCs have been used one of which is GMT brand 196R model and the other one is Delta brand DVP14SS211 model PLC. Two different PLCs are controlled by 7' touch screen GMT brand TSG 070 model HMI which lets the supervisory control and monitoring system for automation process. The system can be used as an alternative to some SCADA systems with lower cost and ease of use.
