Aktarlarda satılan Melissa officinalis L. (Oǧulotu, Melisa) üzerinde morfolojik ve anatomik çalışmalar

Özet

Morphological structure of natural Melissa officinalis and its anatomical properties of the transverse and surface sections from the natural M. officinalis were examined and described. Furthermore, characteristic elements were determined of this plant powder and the samples of purchased from the herbalists were determined. Subsequently, their microphotographs were taken. According to results of the morphological and anatomical characteristics of the samples purchased from the herbalists, it has not been determined that the samples were M. officinalis. Findings were shown that herbal drugs, sold under the name of oǧulotu or melissa in the herbalist, were Lippia citriodora generally, were not M. officinalis. As it stands herbalist samples were not suitable to the officinal drug standards in European Pharmacopoeia of melissa leaf. Furthermore, samples have been sold uncovered and unpackaged. They contained organic and inorganic materials. This plant use as a medicinal purpose; however, herbalist samples do not norm GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) moreover, they do not possess suitable properties to public health.
