Özet

New palynological and isotopic age data from the Gordes basin is consistent with the previously suggested time span of Eskihisar sporomorph association (20-19 to 15-14 Ma). The geological setting and K-Ar dating demonstrate that the age of the Eskihisar sporomorph association bearing Gordes basin fill is younger than the tourmaline leucogranite dykes (24.2 +/- 0.8 to 21.1 +/- 1.1 Ma) and older than the dacites and rhyolites (18.4 +/- 0.6 to 16.3 +/- 0.5 Ma). On this basis the lower limit of the Eskihisar sporomorph association is placed at a time interval younger than 21.1 Ma and older than 18.4 Ma (intra-Burdigalian).
