Phosphine applied at 200 ppm for 2-36 h at 15, 20, 25 degrees C was evaluated as a toxicant against 0-24 and 24-48 h old eggs, 12 day old larvae and 7-8 day old adults of Carpophilus hemipterus (L.) (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae), an important dried fig pest. The mortality rates from different exposure periods were subjected to probit analysis and lethal dose ratios were calculated to compare differences in LT values between different temperatures and between different ages.
