Özet

In this study, a procedure is proposed to evaluate the communication quality of an ad hoc wireless network. Desirability functions have been defined according to the number of hops, average received power between nodes, and maximum number of relaying for the nodes to evaluate the quality of communication provided by the network. For this purpose, a wireless network consists of several nodes located over a map of real terrain is considered and simulations are performed to calculate the performance of the communication. The results show that instead of evaluating communication quality with one metric, this approach can provide various scores with different desirability requirements. Besides, an overall score is also calculated.
