A theoretical prediction of the neutron-neutron scattering length in the singlet-S state is given. The difference between the neutron-proton and the neutron-neutron scattering lengths is attributed to the charge dependent and charge asymmetric potentials which arise from the isospin mixing of various I = 1 and I = 0 pseudoscalar and vector mesons, and from the electromagnetic mass splitting of the isovector mesons. It is assumed that the strongly interacting part of the two nucleon potential is the one-boson-exchange-potential. The values of the neutron-neutron scattering length have been found to be dependent on the parameters used in theory. © Tübi̇tak.
