Abstract
In this study, the molecular characterization of the Group A rotavirus obtained from calves with diarrhea in a farm in TRNC was reported. Faces samples were detected as positive by ELISA and RT-PCR depending on the amplification of the VP6 gene of rotavirus. Then the aetiological agent was analyzed by RT-PCR with generic and type-spesific to the genome segments encoding VP4 and VP7 of rotavirus. Findings revealed that the rotavirus circulating within this farm belongs to G6 and P[11] genotype. This is the first study to report the G and P genotypes of Group A rotavirus from calves with diarrhea in TRNC.
