Conservatism, which had the opportunity to show itself in the Republic of Turkey under favour of the transition to a multi-party system in 1946, was shaped by the contributions of several ideologues during the ten-year rule of the Democratic Party (DP). This new form of conservatism, which developed in conformity with the DP's domestic and foreign policies, had the aim of making its core values dominant as a form of life and politics, unlike the conciliatory and synthesist approach seen in the conservatives of thee arly republican era in Turkey. One of the most important names among people who immensely contributed to the conservative ideology was Necip Fazil Kisakurek. Comprehending the mentality of Kisakurekas a person who was referenced by various right-wing political movements is also crucial in terms of understanding today's conservative politics. In the light of these, this study focused on the perspectives of Kisakurek and his movement, Buyuk Dogu (Great East), on modernism, science, and technology which were concretized in Buyuk Dogu magazine, and how the ruling party and the global conjuncture in politics of the period shaped these views. In this context, "Where is the spirit?" and "Positive Sciences" columns, which appeared in 105 issues of Buyuk Dogu magazine published weekly between October 1949-October1959, related thematic articles and the article series named "Ideological Pattern" were examined by discourse analysis method.
