100 Years of Turkish-Japanese Relations: From History to Economy, Culture to Arts, Taylor & Francis Ltd, London, ss.79-94, 2025
This chapter analyses Turkish-Japanese official relations from the past to the future. Beginning with the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne, bilateral relations are analysed from the perspective of Ashida Hitoshi, who served as a diplomat in Turkey during and after the Treaty. After outlining the relations after World War II, the possibility of a different and tighter political framework of the two relations based on the Organization of Turkic States is evaluated as a future projection. In conclusion, Japan’s possible involvement in the Organization of Turkic States could significantly strengthen and deepen relations between Japan and Turkey. This involvement is of great importance for the expansion of the strategic partnership established in 2013 in line with both historical ties and existing mutual interests.
