Özet

Organic farming is identified with natural and sustainable processes. There are variety of definitions and terms of organic farming. For example, organic production encompasses terms such as biological husbandry, eco-agriculture and biodynamic. Organic farming is also often considered to be synonymous with 'alternative', 'regenerative' or 'sustainable' agriculture. The purpose of this paper is to identify the trends of certified organic agriculture in Turkey. Certification rules and processes in Turkey will also be argued. For these reasons, this paper will be examined within these following sections: general rules of organic farming, procedures and operations for inspection or/and certification bodies, inspection-certification principles and stages and problems and solution proposals in control and certification process. In the light of these purposes, the method of the paper is based on literature work. In this framework, many sources have been searched, including books, articles, statistics, different researches carried out in organic agriculture.
