Özet

The seasonal changes of total carbohydrates, fructose, glucose and sucrose of the bark tissues of 'Tombul', 'Palaz', 'Kalinkara' ' 'Qakildak' and 'Sivri' cvs. grown in East (Duzce) and West Black Sea regions (Giresun) were determined by HPLC. Similar to other fruit species, fructose, glucose and sucrose levels decreased from the end of spring to summer, showed steady changes with low values in summer and increased starting in middle fall until winter. Despite general tendency of decline during spring season, soluble sugar contents of 'Sivri' raised in Duzce region in April. Annual changes in fructose, glucose and sucrose at the two regions and cultivars did not show significant differences. The differences between the regions and the cultivars were prominent in fall and winter months. Sucrose level was higher in December and January in Duzce which has lower winter temperatures than Giresun. But in December opposite results, were obtained for sugars contents except glucose in 'Kalinkara'. Differences between regions during winter period mostly occurred in 'Palaz' 'Qakildak' and 'Sivri'. Sucrose level was also higher in these cultivars than in the others in January.
