Özet

"Exploring the Glass Ceiling in Times of Crisis: Gender and Turkish Higher Education Management" chapter explores how the perception of barriers to women’s academic careers has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in Türkiye. We examine the status of academic women in Turkish universities. The overall participation of women in academia in Türkiye is high relative to other European countries (around 50%); however, at the more senior levels (professors, Deans or Rectors) the proportion of women falls to around a third, pointing to a glass ceiling in Turkish academic careers
