Özet

The first sedimentation in Eregli-Ulukisla basin have started during Upper Cretaceous Campania-Maestrichian. The basin mostly is represented by the deposition of flysch facies and locally by carbonate series. The sedimentary depositions mostly are continued at the beginning of Miocene and locally show regional discontinuity series. The last deposition is represented by lake and river types depositions, which cover all the units in the area. The results of modern organic geochemical analyses reveal that Ciftehan formation has poor petroleum reservoir properties, mostly kerogenite III-Type, organic material at the first maturation stage consequently it has produced poor natural gas with no economical value. The sample results of Halkapmar and Hasangazi formations show that these units have poor degree source rock properties. In addition, they have kerogenite III-Type with organic material at the first maturation stage consequently it has produced poor natural gas with no economical value.
