Özet
This paper provides a comprehensive introduction to and evaluation of the Qur͗ānic Studies Congress (CQS), which was hosted by the Faculty of Theology at Istanbul University in 2025. The congress was organized with an interdisciplinary structure, bringing together researchers from more than fifty universities, and aimed to foster new perspectives in Qur͗ānic studies. The papers, presented within twelve different working groups, covered a wide range of topics, including Mushaf studies, language and stylistics, methodology of tafsīr, modern approaches, and digital Qur͗ānic studies. The opening speeches and keynote lectures addressed fundamental issues such as the place of the Qur͗ān in the contemporary world and methods of interpretation. In the sessions, diverse discussions were conducted, ranging from early Qur͗ānic manuscripts to modern hermeneutical debates, from applications of artificial intelligence to critiques of orientalist literature. Additionally, the historical journey of the Qur͗ān in Europe, translation activities, and cultural interactions were brought to the agenda through special panels and exhibitions. Overall, the congress was evaluated as a significant academic platform that brings together classical and modern approaches, encourages methodological diversity, and aims to develop new perspectives in Qur͗ānic studies.
