With the Treaty of Ankara signed between Turkey and Greece in 1930, the problems between the two countries were resolved and a new era began. This process, in which good relations were established, also found a response in the field of cinema. The political rapprochement between the two countries has removed the obstacles in the cinema sector, such as joint film production with Greece and the export and import of films. In this period, although there was a film production industry in Greece, the lack of sound film technology led Greek producers to take advantage of these opportunities in Turkey. Thus, the first examples of cooperation in the field of cinema between Turkey and Greece were given under the direction of Muhsin Ertugrul, under the roof of Ipek Film, the only film production company in Turkey. In this study, films based on Turkish-Greek cooperation, which were shot in a short time, such as 1931-1933, are discussed. A special emphasis has been placed on how these co-produced films were received and perceived in Turkey and Greece, as well as the circumstances that led to them, with a focus on getting an explanation through the media.
