Background. Carbon-dioxide (CO2) is used universally as an insufflation agent to create a laparoscopic pneumoperitoneum. In this study, we aimed to examine the electron and light microscopic alterations of the peritoneum after both cold-dry and heated-humidified CO, pneumoperitoneum.
