Özet

In the present study, a voltammetric oxidation method for the determination of amoxicillin was developed. A modified carbon paste working electrode was used which was prepared by the addition of proper amount of poly(4-vinyl pyridine) to carbon paste. Among all other electrodes, such as platinum, ruthenium or gold, tested in this research, only with this modified carbon paste electrode a voltammetric response could be obtained. The method was applied to the pharmaceutical preparations of this substance and the results were statistically compared to those obtained with the USP XXII standard method and the difference between the two methods were found to be not significant. The proposed voltammetric method has the advantage of being rapid, simple and directly applicable to the pharmaceutical preparations without any separation step.
