This study focuses on the catalytic dehydrogenation of ethylene diamine bisborane (EDAB). To this end, Pd–Ni–Zr–B–O catalyst was prepared in two steps using the co-precipitation method with NaBH4 and the impregnation method. The catalyst was characterized with XRD, SEM-EDX, and multi-point BET analysis. The effect of temperature (90 ºC-120 °C) on the dehydrogenation reaction of EDAB in an ethylene diamine medium was investigated. The hydrogen production yield significantly increased as the temperature increased and the reaction time reduced as well. The highest yield of an equivalent mole of hydrogen reached 5.96 mol hydrogen/mole EDAB at 120 °C. The reusability test of the catalyst was also carried out and the average hydrogen gas release (HGR) was found as 66.64 mL min−1.g−1. Kinetic analysis was examined. The activation energy was found as 74.5 kJ/mol using non-linear model rate constants.
