Özet

Indoor and outdoor bioaerosol samples were collected from various parts of a university (libraries, sport salons, cafeterias, dormitories, offices, laboratories, and classrooms), located in Ankara, Turkey by Andersen single-stage bioimpactor. Both bacteria and airborne fungal levels were varied between 10 and 103 CFU m-3. Seasonal variations of bioaeorosol levels were also investigated. The highest total bacteria levels were detected in cafeterias, sport salons, and in dormitories in the winter and in dormitories and laboratories in the summer. The highest airborne fungal levels were detected in dormitories, cafeterias, and in laboratories in the winter and in classrooms, dormitories and cafeterias in the summer. The most prevalent bacteria species were Micrococcus spp., Staphylococcus auricularis, and Bacillus spp., while the most prevalent airborne fungal was Penicillium spp. in the entire study. Moreover, calculated indoor to outdoor ratios (I/O) for bioaerosols were related with the sampling season and type of microenvironment.
