Abstract

A 31 year-old, chronic myelogenous leukemia patient underwent allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) from his HLA-identical sibling. Primary graft failure was observed on day 28 posttransplant. An allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell rescue was performed without success. The second graft failure was diagnosed on day 68 posttransplant. Described here is a case showing resistant graft failure which was overcome by allogeneic peripheral blood plus bone marrow stem cells after conditioning with antilymphocyte globulin.
