Abstract

Subcutaneous trocar transplantation of normal urinary bladder mucosa from young adult Fischer rats resulted in cyst formation in the recipients. Cysts were produced byepithelium spreading from margins of thebladder explant over the walls of the cylindrical defect left by the trocar. The epitheliallining of the cyst was similar to that of thenormal bladder. This study also demonstratedthe transplantability of other tissues of thebladder wall. 51: 17191721,1973. © 1973, Oxford University Press. All rights reserved.
