Seroprevalance of toxoplasmosis in sheep and goats in the nigde province of Turkey

Abstract

A study was carried out between October 1998 and January 1999, in order to detect the seroprevalance of toxoplasmosis in sheep and goats in Nigde. Using the Sabin-Feldman test Toxoplasma gondii antibodies were determined in 110 sheep of which 13 sheep had abortion and in 46 goats in Nigde. Out of 110 sheep, 56 (50.90%) and out of 46 goats, 19 (41.30%) were found to be seropositive.
