Abstract

LTB4 and PGE2-like activity in synovial fluid samples from patients with osteoarthritis of the knee joint were determined and found to be significantly higher than in samples obtained from normal patients. The results suggest that leukotrienes and prostaglandins may have a role in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis. © 1990.
