Özet

This research refers to the results of a selection study conducted in the years 2014-2017 within a native spontaneous population of late blooming almonds in Araban and Yavuzeli, districts of Gaziantep (Turkey) which have suitable ecological conditions for the economical cultivation of almonds. Among a total amount of 290 late blooming genotypes studied, 5 genotypes in Araban district (A-94, A-95, A-96, A-146 and A-164) and 7 genotypes in Yavuzeli district (Y-18, Y-19, Y-24, Y-28, Y-29, Y-102 and Y-103) were selected as outstanding for blooming time (very late) and characterized using SSR markers. The 12 genotypes chosen have been taken to be preserved in the Gaziantep Pistachio Research Institute Directorate Genetic Resources parcel to be used as parents in future breeding programs.
