Abstract

This paper describes an implementation of Bayesian change point detection for extracting transients captured from radio transmitter transmissions. When a radio transmitter is activated, it goes through a relatively short transient phase during which the signals generated by the unit have characteristics that can be unique. If these turn-on transients can be separated, they can be analyzed to identify the radio transmitter.
