In this study, antioxidant, oxidant, DPPH scavenger, antimicrobial and antiproliferative activities of wild edible mushroom Marasmius oreades (Bolton) Fr. were determined. In this context, ethanol, methanol and dichloromethane extracts of the fruiting bodies of the mushroom were obtained in a soxhlet device. Antioxidant and oxidant status were measured with Rel Assay kits. Free radical scavenging activity was determined by the DPPH method. Antimicrobial activity was measured against standard bacterial and fungal strains by agar dilution method. Antiproliferative activity was determined by MTT assay against A549 lung cancer cell line. As a result of the studies, it was seen that the antioxidant and antimicrobial potentials of M. oreades were high. In addition, oxidant status was determined to be at normal levels. In addition, the extracts were found to have strong antiproliferative activity. As a result, it was determined that M. oreades could be a natural antioxidant, antimicrobial and antiproliferative agent.
