Factor V Leiden mutation is a risk factor for the development of thromboembolic events in pregnancy. Thrombosis of the mesenteric vein is a fairly infrequent condition complicating pregnancy. In this paper, we described a pregnant patient with mesenteric vein thrombosis who was heterozygous for the factor V Leiden mutation. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.
