Abstract

Forty three cats in different breed. age and sex which were referred to University of Ankara, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Clinics of Orthopaedics and Traumatologia between February 2005 and June 2007 with high rise were formed in this study. After clinical and radiographical evaluations, lesions in different localization were determined. In this Study. it was aimed that to evaluate the operative and non-operative fixation methods in according to fractures' forms and anatomical localizations. Intramedullar Steinmann pin application in 10 cases, Intramedullar pin and cerclage wire combination ill 3 cases, intramedullary Schanz pin application in 4 cases, cerclage wire application in 1 case, screw application in 1 case, acrylic external fixator application in 2 cases, titanium plate application in 1 case, interfragmental cerclage in 3 cases, bilateral intrafragmental cerclage and interarcade nodal in 1 case were performed in 32 cases. Otherwise, coxo-femoral luxation (2 cases) and collum femoris fracture was determined in 3 cases and femoral head and neck ostectomies was applied. Classical cage rest was suggested in 7 cases and in 3 cases supported bandage was applied. In Study, when the functional recovery had been evaluated; very good result in 26 cases. good result in 15 cases and one case were dead were achieved. Any lesion was determineted in one case.
