Abstract

This study concerns the development of twin and triplet-forms of recent benthic foraminifera observed in the sediments of the northern Aegean Sea and western Black Sea regions, Turkey. These are respectively Adelosina cf. cliarensis (HERON-ALLEN & EARLAND). Quinqueloculina seminula (LINNE), Lobatula lobatula (WALKER & JACOB), Ammonia compacta HOFKER and Ammonia tepida CUSHMAN. The reason of abnormality is ontogenetic, and it occurs accidentally due to delay in the rupture of reproductive cysts.
