Abstract

Throughout history, gardens have been shaped through the reflection of culture on space, where culture is defined as a system of symbols shared by people and transferred to future generations. Protecting and ensuring the sustainability of Turkish gardens, which carry the historical and cultural heritage to date, will enable the transference of the nation's consciousness to future generations. For this purposethis study associates the concept of culture and the general characteristics of Turkish culture with Turkish garden art. It also summarizes the general characteristics of Turkish gardens and highlights the significance of protecting these spaces. © Ahmet Yesevi University Board of Trustees.
