Eight museology initiatives, of which one is military museum, six have been founded in Ankara and five are still active today, have been determined since the opening of the Civilian Veterinary School in Turkey. Today there are five active museums which have been founded as unique samples and they have no official licenses. Among them the Veterinary History Museum is the only one, which has a holistic collection related to whole Turkish veterinary history and as one of the world's leading museum; it takes places within the international museology literature.
