Spasticity can be managed conservatively and surgically. Initiation therapy begins with conservative treatment which has fewer side effects and gradually more interventional treatments take place. Basic goal of treatment is to reduce the effects of hypertonicity without putting the functions into any risks. While the plan for the treatment of spasticity is made; the time after the onset of disease, severity of the disease, distribution of spasticity and the region of spasticity, should be considered as well as the patient's clinical and social status. Voluntary motor control degree and grasping disorders should also be taken into consideration.
