Abstract

Acrylic jacket crowns were constructed for extracted incisor teeth. After cementation, under 5 kg and 10 kg loads, the acid penetration was observed using an autoradiographic technique. It was found that the acid penetration was greater when the dentine was unprotected and the crowns were cemented under high seating forces. The use of a cavity liner prior to cementation considerably reduced the acid penetration. © 1988.
