In this study, the fillet yield, body composition and energy content of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) reared in sea net-cages and fresh water concrete ponds were investigated. Fillet yields of trouts reared in fresh water concrete ponds and sea net-cages were determined as 64. 92 +/- 2.75 % and 66.53 +/- 2.30 %, respectively. Fillet yields of trouts with skin were determined as 71.74 +/- 0.47 % and 73.24 +/- 0.44 %, respectively. Crude protein of rainbow trout fillets reared in sea net-cages and fresh water concrete ponds were found to be 20.33 +/- 0.30 % and 19.59 +/- 0.30 %; Crude lipid 4.1 +/- 0.09 % and 4.0 +/- 0.10 %; crude ash 1.22 +/- 0.08 % and 1.17 +/- 0.12 %; water 74.18 +/- 0.06 % and 75.24 +/- 0.65 %; gross energy content 6.51 +/- 0.04 and 6.26 +/- 0.03 kj.g(-1), respectively. As a result of this study. No differences were determined in the case of meat yield, body composition and energy contents of trouts reared in sea net-cages and fresh water concrete ponds (P> 0.05).
