The objective of this study was to present the relationship between the leadership styles of the trainers who work in public institutions and their self-sufficiency. The study group consisted of 324 trainers who work in Turkey. The data was collected through the Scale of Leadership for Sports (SLS) developed by Chelladurai and Saleh (1980) and the Scale for Self-efficacy (SSE) developed by Riggs et al., (1994). For the analysis of the obtained data, Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Single Direction Variance Analysis (ANOVA) were used. The error margin of the study was accepted as 0.05. In the result of the executed statistical analysis, significant differences were determined between self-sufficiencies of the trainer and their leadership styles (p<0.05). In conclusion; No relationship was found between the self-concept and their leadership styles except educational behaviors while their self-sufficiency was seen to increase so long as the ages of the coaches and their coaching levels increase. Moreover, the trainers were observed to behave more democratically so long as their ages and coaching periods increase.
