Indeterminacy of the eclipse parameters of tau-Persei from the incomplete 1984 and 1989 eclipse observations is illustrated. It was shown that the solution given by Hall et al. (1991) is irrelevant for the system. Due to high eccentricity (e almost-equal-to 0.73) and the present value of the longitude of periastron (omega almost-equal-to 235-degrees) the secondary eclipse is unlikely to occur, unless (R1 + R2) > 915 cos i. Good-quality observations (photometric and spectroscopic), particularly around mid-eclipse, and external contact points of the upcoming March 1993 primary eclipse may remove the indeterminacy of eclipse parameters.
