Abstract

Post-graduate education in Turkey has been subject to evaluation and criticism in various environment in recent years. The last example of this was an international scientific meeting held on 24-26 November 2016 in Istanbul. This article introduces and evaluates the meeting titled "Academic Theses in Qur'anic Studies-Western and Muslim World Comparision". The most important feature of the meeting is that for the first time in an international meeting, postgraduate dissertations, mainly doctoral theses, have been dealt with in Tafsir. Since there is no detailed description of the various papers, as well as important points spoken during the first day and last day's general sessions.
