Özet

The effects of various levels and combinations of Mo and W on the growth and NO3 accumulation of the lettuce cultivars, Berlo and Kisten, grown in nutrient solution were studied. Mo and W treatments, added as Na2MoO4.2H2O and Na2WO4.2H2O, were 0.2, 0.0; 0.0, 20; 0.2, 20; 0.6, 0.0; 0.0, 60; 0.6, 60; 1.8, 0.0; 0.0, 180; 1.8 180 μmol/l. The growth of both varieties was not affected by Mo treatments; W treatments, on the other hand a decrease in growth. This effect of W was seem to be more pronounced in the highest W, 180 μmol/l, treatment. The toxic effect of W was partly prevented by the presence of Mo in the nutrient solution. Neither NO3 nor total-N content of the plants were affected by Mo treatments. In contrast to this, W increased NO3 content without affecting total-N content. This effect of W was more pronounced when there was no Mo present in the nutrient solution. The Mo content of the plants was increased with the increasing Mo in the nutrient solution. However, Mo uptake by the plants was decreased by tungste, especially in the highest QW treatment.
