Özet

Konya as being one of the oldest settlements of Anatolia inhabited by many civilisations has a splendid historical past as far as human habitats are concerned. The city is located at Central Anatolian Region developed on a plain land called Konya Plateau having the oldest settlements in its borders till prehistoric times. Konya as being the capital of Se1jukid Era, exhibits on one hand the character of a Se1jukid settlement and the traces of Turkish culture with its unique pattern, monumental buildings and the traditional houses and carries the traces of the Hittite housing culture on the other hand. However, the settlement is changing rapidly day by day by the addition of numerous contemporary buildings and housing areas in an unhealthy urban development.
