Abstract
The increase in global food demand has led to the development of pest control strategies, and pesticides have been widely used for pest control. However, the overuse of pesticides has caused environmental pollution, pesticide resistance, and negative impacts on human health. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) represents a more sustainable approach, but its implementation is often hampered by a lack of trained personnel and high costs. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to transform IPM practices by improving pest management and reducing reliance on pesticides. This study investigates the potential of AI, particularly in the analysis of data from various sources, including imaging, acoustic sensors, and weather data. AI systems have the capacity to identify pests, predict diseases, and suggest management strategies, thus reducing reliance on pesticides. Integration of AI into IPM can address the shortage of professional personnel and the high cost of traditional IPM methods. This new approach has the potential to transform the pesticide industry and make food production more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
