Two new spectrophotometric method, ratio spectra derivative spectrophotometry and Vierordt's method, for the simultaneous determination of ingredients in binary mixtures, containing hydrochlorothiazide ramipril and hydrochlorothiazide - spironolactone , were applied to their determination in pharmaceutical formulations, without prior separation procedure. In the first method, the signals were measured at 253.8 nm for ramipril and at 269.9 nm or hydrochlorothiazide in their binary mixture ,and also at 270.7 nm for hydrochlorothiazide and at 237.0 nm for spironolactone in the binary mixture, in the first derivative of the ratio spectra. In the second method, All (%1, 1 cm) values in selected wavelengths of hydrochlorothiazide, ramipril and spironolactone were determined at 274.9 nm and 257.6 nm in hydrochlorothiazide - ramipril mixture , and also , at 272.9 nm and 240.0 nm in hydrochlorothiazide -spironolactone mixture in the zero - order spectra. The amounts of ingredients were calculated by using the Al 1 (%1, 1 cm) values and by using two equation with two unknown. In the Vierordt's method, the "matlab" were used for the mathematical calculations. The methods were successfully applied to two pharmaceutical formulations for the determination of active ingredients.
